Known to the world as home of the biggest mall, Dubai is looking to construct a new mall, adjoining it will be the longest indoors ski gradient. This is all under plans to build something of a large-scale related to residence, leisure and hospitality expansion and development.
The project spans 3.67 million square meters and was launched recently in Dubai by none other than Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai, prime minister and vice President of the UAE.
The project will include features of the Meydan One Mall, which is 711-meters tall and located within the Dubai One tower, a municipal plaza, containing a harbor with 100 berths and a 4-kilometre channel.
It will be situated in the area covering Al Khail Road and the Meydan Hotel and its development will be under-taken by the Meydan City Corporation. According to the developers, the first stage of the project is planned to be completed before the year 2020. The exact project value was not stated.
According to Saeed Humaid Al Tayer, who is Meydan’s chairman, this development is going to be an interactive, thinking forward enterprise, which will be geared in the direction of the future Dubai. The support and encouragement that the development company has received from their partners is now aiding them to bring their dream projects into life. As Dubai plans to host the upcoming 2020 World Expo, the first phase of the project will be completed.
The Meydan One Mall will span a total area of 25,000 square meters and will feature a new type of roof, a retractable roof. This roof will measuring 80 meters by 150 meters and will remain open throughout the winter months. The mall will also include, over 300 cafes, restaurants and kiosks in addition to luxury retailers. Adjoining the mall will be the new hype that customers are looking forward to eagerly- an indoor ski slope. This indoor ski slope is anticipated to stand at 1.2 kilometers, the longest in the world.
Predicted to be the world’s highest housing tower, the Dubai One, and its incorporated podium will cover approximately 350,000 square meters of floor area. It will contain a five-star hotel with 350 rooms and 885 residential apartments. In addition to all of this, it will also have a scope of an observation that is 655-meter high, a conference center, a restaurant that is 675-meter high and a Meydan One Marina Yacht Club.
A multi-purpose sport facility that is indoors will also be included within the project. It will measure at around 5.3 kilometers of jogging and cycling trails, which is around 25,000 square meters long and a 9 kilometers boardwalk.
Furthermore, the project will comprise of a dancing fountain. This fountain is projected to be 420 meters in length, standing at the world’s largest ranking, with a 300 meter long beach; a heritage village and a civic plaza that will welcome more than 60,000 guests at a time.
