The Pointe
Situated on Palm Jumeirah, The Pointe is set to be potentially the costliest dining and entertainment belt with a water-view based front in Dubai. According to its developer, Nakheel, The Pointe is set to be completed by the first quarter of 2016.
Around 30 percent of the construction work has been completed, while more than 100 outlets out of the total 145 have been leased. The 1.2 km development, positioned across the bay from the Atlantis and on the edge of the island, is anticipated to cost in at AED 800 million.
According to one senior official from Nakheel, The Pointe may bring in anywhere from 40,000 to 50,000 visitors just in a day once it is fully launched and operating. Recently, Dubai’s water based leisure locations, such as The Walk and the Beach, have attracted many visitors. New Parks and Resorts have also been projected to be built around the water in order to continue the tourism boom.
Premium Offer
There will also be a premium offer for The Pointe. According to director of retail at Nakheel, Omar Khoory, The Pointe will need to come with a premium offer considering its prime location. He stated how The Pointe would offer ranges from a burger place all the way to exclusive dining. However, he did not disclose the details of the rate at which the outlets are being leased.
One of the potential outlets, measured at 10,000 square feet, will be used as Nakheel’s hospitality unit; services might be starting from the third quarter of 2015 as opposed to 2016.
Nakheel Mall
Another highly anticipated development is the Nakheel Mall, which will also be situated in a prime location and is projected to be worth over AED 1 billion. The mall is arranged to open in 2017. Presently, 55 percent of the Mall has been leased. It could potentially hold up to 70,000 customers or visitors per day once it is fully up and running.
