The Company reveals sponsorship deal prior to FA Cup final match between Arsenal and Aston Villa
Airline carrier, Emirates, has secured yet another sports sponsorship deal, becoming the lead partner of The FA Cup. The deal was announced just ahead of the FA Cup final, where Aston Villa and Arsenal are facing each other for the title. Starting from the next season, the tournament is to be renamed ‘Emirates FA Cup’ and will remain so till 2018.
According to President of Emirates Airline, Sir Tim Clark, football brings together different nations, clubs and communities of the world under the same sporting banner. FA Cup, a tournament of unmatched sporting legacy, draws a global fan following of 1.1 billion people. Emirates value this indomitable spirit of the players and emotions associated with this tournament worldwide, says the President. Hence, Emirates takes pride in sponsoring the FA Cup, looking forward to a lasting partnership. This enables the company to be a part of all the enthusiasm, both in the United Kingdom and worldwide.
Sponsoring the FA Cup is not the lone feather in Emirates’ hat, rather, the company has been a proud sponsor of many prestigious European football clubs. Arsenal, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Hamburger SV, Olympiacos FC, Paris Saint-Germain, and Benfica to name a few.
Greg Dyke, Chairman of the English Football Association, FA, believes that the sponsorship deal of Emirates has been a great achievement for the tournament authorities, fans, and the overall game alike. He also opines that the partnership with Emirates, which is a leading brand name, a facilitator of sporting events, and a pragmatic thinker, will be greatly beneficial to both parties. This enables us to take the game to new audiences across the globe and spark new interest; hence, allowing us to invest more into all arenas of football.
Curtain call of this season announced with the upcoming final, and the next season of the FA Cup is scheduled to begin from August 15 along with the extra-preliminary rounds. The final is set to take place at Wembley on May 21, 2016.
