Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Accountants and Auditors Association (AAA) of United Arab Emirates announced the introduction of new chartered accountancy degree in United Arab Emirates “UAECA”. The new qualification was launched on the national Flag Day of United Arab Emirates, the day when Sheikh Khlifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan became the president of country 10 years ago.
The announcement of this alliance between ACCA and AAA was made at Armani Hotel Dubai. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, the economy minister of the state, appeared at the occasion and appreciated these efforts made for the development of accountancy profession in the country.
The new chartered accountancy qualification will be based on qualification of ACCA and offers chances to the citizens of UAE to get an internationally recognized accounting qualification. Furthermore this alliance provides the opportunity to get membership of AAA and ACCA which will result in gaining increased respect and reputation.
The regional director of MENASA-ACCA, Stuart Dunlop stated that this exclusive alliance will help the accounting students to get a local qualification which will increase their expertise and enable them to serve in both national and international markets. After becoming an ACCA member, AAA membership can be applied. As a result, the titles ‘UAECA’ and ‘ACCA’ can be attached with names. He added that since this alliance advocates the government’s policies in relation to improvement of finance and accounting profession, more employers will start to work with these bodies in future and more career opportunities will come up.
As demand of accountants is rising in UAE, AAA targets to create more than hundred local chartered accountants by the year 2021. The chairman of AAA, Saif bin Abed Al Muhairi, said that they are hopeful that the local students will be motivated about getting this new qualification and become the leading finance professionals in future.
The board member and Secretary General of AAA, Ahmad Darwish, stated that through UAECA the future generations will help UAE to grow further as prominent financial center in the region.
